Netherlands government gave preference to Dharamshala in pilot smart city project

htwDharamshala city of Himachal Pradesh will have the privilege to be the first smart city of the country amongst the list of selected cities to be developed as smart cities. Netherlands government has selected Dharamshala first of all for smart city pilot project. Not only this, but a global smart city conclave will also be organised in September – October in Dharamshala. A three member team under the leadership of Baram Render, Advisor to Netherlands Prime Minister, visited Dharamshala recently and discussed various aspects of the project. The Netherlands government will spend about three crore rupees under the project here. Three partnerships will be done to finish this pilot project. The representative team will present its report to Netherlands government on January 25. After that Netherlands government will work with Union Government on smart city project and the state government will work on the project in collaboration with Union Government. Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Town & Country Planning Sudhir Sharma told Himachal This Week that a global smart city conclave will be organised in September – October in Dharamshala. Mayors of the smart cities from all across the country and world besides experts associated with smart city project will participate in this conclave, added he. The minister said that Netherlands government will help Indian government in smart city project. Before that work is already in progress on solid waste management since 2014 as per an agreement between the Netherlands government and Himachal Government. Smart City Dharamshala was provided a financial help of about Rs. 40 lakh under this plan. The state government is seeking special cooperation from the Netherlands government in the field of modern healthcare, education and tourism under the smart city project so as to extend maximum benefit to the public.

Power Board Incurs Rs. 12 Crore Loss

htwHimachal Pradesh State Electricity Board had to bear huge losses due to heavy snowfall in the hill state. It has sent a report to the state government after primary estimate and the field staff has been directed to send the detailed report. According to an estimate, its losses will cross Rs. 20 crore mark, but initially it has been estimated to be Rs. 12 crore. The state government has released Rs. 5 crore to the board that has allocated the amount to the field staff. Notably, the board has suffered maximum damage at six places in the state where large number of transmission lines were broken even as transformers suffered damage. High tension lines have bore the maximum brunt and electricity could not be restored for many days in certain areas. The areas that suffered maximum damage include Chopal, Shimla, Pangi, Bharmour, Tissa and Thunag. Even as board is claiming of restoring normalcy, but electricity supply has not been restored at few places. The electricity board has urged help from the state government to restore electricity. As a result, the state government has released Rs. 5 crore

Home Credit India’s Zero Interest Loan Offer On Smartphones
