Nissan India Opens Its Third Dealership in Himachal

India’s second fastest growing car manufacturing company Nissan Group of India inaugurated its new dealership at Matour Chowk in Kangra district. This is Nissan’s third dealership in the state after Mandi and Solan. This latest dealership is another step forward for the company, which continues its steady sales and service network expansion pan-India. The newly inaugurated dealership, MR Nissan, located at Ghurkari on the outskirts of this town would cater to sales and after-sales requirements of Nissan customers residing in the state and bordering areas of Punjab. MR Nissan’s workshop also provides a convenient option for any after-sales requirements of Nissan and Datsun customers from neighbouring states like Delhi, Haryana and Punjab travelling to various hill stations in the state. Speaking at the inauguration, Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Private Limited, said Nissan’s dealership network continued to steadily grow in line with our plans. “Himachal is an important market for Nissan and Datsun and we have seen a tremendous response for Datsun cars like redi-GO and GO+ from customers in hill areas of the country. We are delighted to open our third dealership today in Himachal,” he said. Anand Pal Singh, Dealer Principal MR Nissan said that this new dealership is a great opportunity for us to bring Nissan and Datsun vehicles closer to existing and prospective customers in Kangra looking for a great driving experience.

Tax Collection Touches Rs. 4600 Crore

htwThe demonetisation has filled coffers of the state government as Excise and Taxation Department has shattered all previous tax collection records in Himachal. It is hopeful that they will exceed well beyond the target of Rs. 6400 crore by the end of current financial year. According to sources, the department has earned more than Rs. 650 crore within 50 days after the declaration of demonetisation. Until now, the it has added Rs. 4600 crore in the state exchequer. And that too when quarterly return is still to come by the end of January month. The department working hard to earn more than targeted tax collection of Rs. 6400 crore. The department has gone totally online and therefore many businessmen have submitted advance tax too after demonetisation. The state government has earned more than Rs. 30 crores as advance tax. Besides this, alcohol contractors too have submitted their pending amount of more than Rs. 100 crore. Notably demonetisation was declared at the same time when quarterly return was to be filed. All those people who used to stretch the quarterly return submission to year end also filed it on time. The tax collection rate of the department has increased to a greater extent after it has gone online. Now GST will also be implemented in near future which will increase the revenue of the state government. The taxation department will review the target after quarterly return in January end with all new figures available from the field.

* The department has broken all old records of tax collection with more than Rs. 4600 crores collected as tax until now. The department will collect more amount than the set target as there is no negative impact of demonetisation visible on the ground

Second Season Of

‘Traffic Heroes Of India’

htwChandigarh: Radio station Radio Mirchi and Maruti Suzuki India Limited joined hands with Traffic Police Department of Chandigarh to flag off second season of ‘Maruti Traffic Heroes of India’. The initiative is aimed at increasing awareness on road safety and also to educate people about traffic rules. As a part of the drive, a convoy of branded cars was flagged off from Chandigarh that will visit close to 10 traffic signals every day for a week covering important market places, residential colonies, schools and colleges in the way. Employees of the Radio Mirchi in the week-long activity will recognise commuters who will be adhering to traffic rules and wearing the protective gear; as well as acknowledge the traffic police personnel’s at the signals, said the company. During the launching of the programme Madhurendra Malu, Regional Manager Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that, “We got great response of the initiative last year. This year we expect to sensitise more people to adhere to traffic safety and rules. Our aim is to curb advertent violation of traffic rules and making driving experience safe and happy for every citizen.” The week long activity will culminate on January 15, 2017.

Snowfall A Blessing For Power Projects

Snowfall is considered to be a blessing for power projects in Himachal Pradesh. As the state had not received the desired snowfall in previous years, the deficit has been covered with the recent fresh and heavy snowfall. According to experts, the electricity production will definitely increase considerably this year. And the units that are not running to full capacity too will meet their production targets. In total, this winter season is considered to be good for electricity production by experts. Notably, many new electricity projects are to begin including Sainj hydro power project in government sector. Besides this, Kashang project, which is grappling with the shortage of water, too will able to meet its set production targets. Due to snowfall, there will be not be shortage of water in rivers and khads thus adding to the increase in electricity production.
