Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh started the second phase of his winter sojourn from where he had left in the first phase in January. After campaigning for Congress candidates in Punjab election, Chief Minister is back in Kangra district. And during his visits to different constituencies, he has inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various projects besides fulfilling various demands raised by people of different areas. During his visit to Jwalamukhi constituency, he announced various schemes and reiterated government resolve for overall development of the state. The government had fulfilled, rather had gone beyond the promises made in the election manifesto, which was adopted as a policy document, he said.

Chief Minister also announced degree colleges for Dehra and Matour and an IPH division at Kangra.  Speaking at a ‘Samaan Rally’ organised by Kangra MLA Pawan Kajal at Matour, Virbhadra Singh said the state BJP leaders were unnecessarily propagating the issue. “I am astonished that instead of welcoming this move, even former chief minister Shanta Kumar is opposing it, though, I thought he would have been happy enough”, said Virbhadra Singh.

He added that though the BJP leaders keep boasting of nationalism but whenever the elections were around the corner, they talk of regionalism to fulfill their self-interest and for their political survival. “It was due to instigation of few state BJP leaders that one Union leader was pursuing cases against me. But I know the truth will prevail in the end,” said. Chief Minister.
