In our endeavour to honour different personalities of the state and salute their devotion in their respective fields of specialisation, Himachal This Week had carried bravery act of 11-years old Prafull Sharma  who had saved the lives of many children. A student of Lord Convent School, Sarkaghat, Prafull had exhibited exemplary presence of mind to save his friends by averting a big mishap.

This week finds the mention of Himachali stars, Saurabh Agnihotri of Shimla and Sugandha Sood of Solan, who have been making a steady growth in their career in the tinsel town. They have not only impressed  the established stars in Mumbai but also brought laurels to Himachal with their work in Bollywood.

Himachali Star in Bollywood: Saurabh Agnihotri

HTWCitation: Hailing from Shimla, Saurabh Agnihotri has made a steady progress in his acting career. Starting his journey during his college days at Sanjauli, he was passionate to make a career in this field. He performed at various platforms including Gaiety Theatre. His real break came in as a small role in ‘Three Idiots’ film in 2008 and later in ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’. His upcoming film is ‘Jolly LLB 2’.

For his remarkable journey in establishing his identity in Bollywood, Himachal This Week confers on him Himachal Excellence Award 2016.

Saurabh Agnihotri of Shimla has made steady progress to become an established name in the tinsel town. He started his career in acting while studying in Centre for Excellence College, Sanjauli by participating in youth festival in 2002. He was instrumental in getting play award for the college in 2003. His passion for acting took him from college stage to the Gaiety Theatre where he got an opportunity to act along side best theatre artists. He also passed AIR test in 2004 and got an opportunity to figure in many films during his stint with Aakashwani. He got a break in Bollywood as he was offered a small role in ‘Three Idiots’ film in 2008. Earlier, he was also associated with the crew of ‘Black’ film during its shoot in Shimla in 2003. All these years, Saurabh learnt nuances of acting from different artists. Until now, he has established a different identity while playing small roles in three big films, including ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’ in 2014 and ‘Welcome to Karachi’. He will next be seen playing the role of a Kashmiri police person in the upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 2’. Saurabh says that he was attracted towards acting because of her mother who had keen interest in literature. He will also feature in an upcoming serial on Life OK channel soon.

HTWCitation: Hailing from Solan, Sugandha Sood is an established name as a celebrity stylist in Bollywood.  After completing her post graduation from School of Fashion Technology, she went to Mumbai to make a career but had to face many challenges. However, she put in hard work and now Bollywood artists are fascinated by Sugandha’s styles.

Sugandha Sood of Solan has made

a place in Bollywood within a short span of time. Famous Bollywood stars wear Sugandha’s styles on screen. She is working as a stylist in Mumbai for many years now. Born on January 17, 1992 in Solan, Sugandha had her early schooling in Solan, graduated from Chandigarh and did post graduation from School of Fashion Technology. Then she headed for Mumbai where she had to face a lot of challenges.

However, she put in hard work and now Bollywood artists are fascinated by Sugandha’s styles. Until now, she has worked with Abhishek Verma, Divyangana, Suyash, Kishwar, Sara Khan, Tony kakkar, Abhijeet Sawant, Neha Kakkar and others. Sugandha says that she wanted to do something different since childhood. Himachalis are not well versed with celebrity stylist but this field has tremendous scope, she adds.
