Colleges Grow But Quality Drops

This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of February 11, 2017, “Colleges Grow But Quality Drops”. The present government has opened degree colleges in abundance across the state. It is a good step that to provide higher education to students near to their homes especially in far flung and remote areas, However the government should also ensure that newly opened colleges have proper infrastructure in addition to teaching and non- teaching staff as per requirement. Effort should also be put in to make centres of excellence.

Drugs Menace In Society

Youths falling prey to drugs are not only spoiling their own future but also having an adverse impact on the society. Such is the scenario that even aware people don’t have courage to oppose such youths addicted to drugs. Everybody knows about the prevailing scenario in their respective places as to who are involved in trafficking of drugs. The society must cooperate with the police and government if it wants to save its generation from falling prey to drugs.
