Tourism To Get New Wings In Himachal

htwUnion Ministry of Tourism has approved Rs. 100 crore for Himachal Pradesh under Himalayan Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Yojana. The state government has proposed various projects in different parts of the state under this plan. These include convention centre at Kyarighat in Solan district, heliport in Shimla, water sports centre at Sunni in Rural Shimla, redevelopment of ice skating rink in Shimla, roadside facilities at Tipra in Solan, entertainment centre in Manali and a project of mountaineering on Artificial mountain in Manali. Besides this, the state government has also proposed beautification of Dal Lake in Dharamshala, paragliding school in Bir, rafting centre in Nadaun, beautification of Saurabh Van Vihar in Palampur, cultural centre in Kangra and arts and cultural centre at Bhalei Mata in Chamba. Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Vinod Jutshi chaired the central sanctioning and monitoring committee meeting of the tourism ministry. Chief Secretary Himachal Pradesh V.C. Pharka, Commissioner Tourism Mohan Chauhan and Additional Director of Tourism Department Manoj Sharma also attended the meting. Chief Secretary Himachal Pradesh V.C. Pharka expressed gratitude to the Union Ministry of Tourism for approval of the projects. He said that implementation of these projects will further accentuate and promote tourism infrastructure in Himachal. This is second big tourism project for hill state after approval of two phases of Rs. 400 crore projects by Asian Development Bank. These projects can give new direction to tourism in Himachal.  A central committee earlier had visited six districts of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal has unique potentional in terms of adventure and religious tourism, More than 80 lakh tourists pay their obeisance in the shaktipeeths of Himachal. Besides this Manali, Dharamshala and Shimla are world renowned for adventure tourism. The central committee surveyed buildings and places of historical importance that have opportunities for development in perspective of tourism.

Plan Announced Last Year

The Union Government had last year announced to launch an ambitious Swadesh Darshan plan to develop tourism infrastructure in the country. The state with huge tourism development opportunities were included in this plan.

Honda Launches Facelift Version Of ‘City’

htwHonda has launched the new facelift version of its popular sedan City in Himachal Pradesh too. The car was launched at Courtesy Honda, Honda’s authorised dealership at Kalka-Shimla highway in Solan. During the inauguration ceremony, Dikshant Sharma of Courtesy Honda revealed the new additions to the already feature rich Honda City. he India-spec 2017 Honda City Facelift received subtle cosmetic upgrades with minor reshuffling in features and largely resemble the model launched in Thailand last year. Its arrival into the Indian market marked the revival of ‘City ZX‘ moniker as a new top of the line variant.  The new City ZX gets the front and rear changes inspired by the new Honda Civic with revised bumpers and fog lamp housing, larger air dams, thick chrome band running into the headlight cluster integrated with LED lamps, LED inserts on tail lamps, 10 mm raised suspension, 16-inch alloys instead of 15-inchers, boot spoiler with middle LED stop light, etc. Loaded with a host of new features and cosmetic upgrades, the 2017 Honda City comes in a total of 11 variants with two engine options and is priced from Rs. 8.59 lakh to Rs. 13.56 lakh. While the fuel efficiency has been revised in the new model, mechanically the Honda City facelift remains unchanged. Honda has also added a new Modern Steel Metallic (grey) shade to the City, in addition to the existing colour options. The popularity of the car can be gauged from the fact that seven cars were booked only on the launch day of the facelift version of the car.
