14 Personalities Receive Himachal Excellence Awards 2016

Fourteen distinguished personalities of Himachal were presented Himachal Excellence Awards 2016 for their outstanding contribution in different areas of the society. Divya Himachal’s English weekly Himachal This Week honoured them in the august presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Himachal Pradesh High Court. Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to veteran journalist Jai Kumar Sharma of Bilaspur for his remarkable journey and contribution in the field of journalism for nearly six decades. Superintendent of Police, Kangra, Sanjiv Gandhi (HPS) was honoured with Administrative of the Year Award for his remarkable initiatives in demolishing drugs cartel and ‘No helmet No petrol’ campaign to curb fatal accidents in the district. As awardees received Himachal Excellence Awards 2016 from the chief guest, the audience present in the auditorium applauded and gave standing ovation to them. The award function was organised during Divya Himachal’s mega event ‘Miss Himachal 2017’ organised at Sardar Shoba Singh Auditorium of Tanda Medical College.
‘Education Without Moral Values Is Incomplete’
‘Education without moral values is incomplete. Instilling moral values along with imparting education makes an individual a complete human being,” said Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Himachal Pradesh High Court. Speaking as chief guest during Divya Himachal’s Himachal Excellence Awards 2016 function, his thought provoking speech on values, humanity and beauty left the audience present in the auditorium spellbound. Hpn’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Singh Thakur exhorted people not to forget the humanity besides helping and honouring the neglected sections of the society. “All participants in a competition are talented persons. However, some of them move ahead whereas other lag behind. It is a part of any competition but one should march ahead along with values,” he added, stressing on the need to promote Hindi language.
