Himachal This WeekShweta Sharma of Una emerged winner of ‘Miss Himachal 2017’ title after the grand finale of Divya Himachal’s mega event was held at Tanda Medical College auditorium. Rakhi Sharma of Rampur was declared 1st Runner up while Ayushi Sethi of Dharamshala emerged as 2nd Runner up of the event. The jam packed auditorium stood witness to the fierce competition among top 22 finalists vying for the coveted title. A five member judges panel panel, including Miss India 2016 1st Runner up Sushrithi Krishna, judged various aspects of personality of the finalists. It was a unique experience for Shweta, a B. Tech graduate, as she said that Divya Himachal’s event has changed the direction of her life.

‘Dreams Come True if Chased Passionately’

Shweta SharmaHTW: What was the biggest challenge for Miss Himachal title?

Shweta Sharma: It was a challenge to remain fit for the event. I resorted to training sessions besides watching Miss India shows to improve my ramp walk.

HTW: Who motivated you for this event?

Shweta Sharma: I have been working to fulfill my dream for the past three years. After making it to the semi final in Miss Himachal 2015, I could not participate in grand finale due to my exams. My dream to become Miss Himachal motivated me to work hard.

HTW: What are your plans after achieving Miss Himachal title?

Shweta Sharma: I have fulfilled my dream as Miss Himachal title means a lot to me. I want to pursue modeling and acting along with my job. I intend to join acting institute also to learn nuances of acting.

HTW: Do you feel any changes in your personality after participating in this event?

Shweta Sharma: I have learnt to adopt positivity in life besides working and feeling happy over the progress of companions as other finalists encouraged me.

HTW: Any three qualities which only you possess?

Shweta Sharma: Never say die attitude, extremely hard working and passion to fulfill dreams of my family.

HTW: Did you feel any pressure during the competition?

Shweta Sharma: There was pressure during last two days of grooming session but I felt relieved after talking to my family members. I prayed to the God to remain free of any pressure and left everything to the Almighty.

HTW: What was your experience of grooming session?

Shweta Sharma: Never lose faith even under difficult circumstances.

HTW: Any moment that changed your viewpoint towards life?

Shweta Sharma: Dreams come true if chased passionately.

HTW: Your message to Himachali young ladies?

Shweta Sharma: Work hard to fulfill aspirations but don’t leave studies midway as it would raise one’s confidence level. Education makes difference between better and best.

‘Pursue Passion and Fashion Concurrently’

Sushrithi KrishnaMiss India 2016 1st Runner up Sushrithi Krishna exhorted the young girls to pursue glamour world and their passion for the work in which they have the expertise, concurrently. She was the celebrity guest during Divya Himachal’s mega event ‘Miss Himachal 2017’ grand finale. “Don’t depend only on Bollywood after winning beauty pageant. One should move ahead in this field by mixing glamour and professional education,” she added. Sushrithi also lauded Divya Himachal’s efforts to provide such a platform to young Himachali ladies.

Divya Himachal Football League Launched

Divya Himachal Football League LaunchedDivya Himachal Media Group has formally launched ‘Football League’ to provide an opportunity to the soccer players of this hilly state. Hon’ble Mr. Justice  Vivek Singh Thakur, Himachal Pradesh High Court along with Divya Himachal Editor-in-Chief Anil Soni launched the logo of football league that has been recognised by the State Football Federation. Owners of different teams and sponsors were also present on the occasion.

'Himachali Girls Are Talented'Divya Himachal Editor-in-Chief Anil Soni lauded the achievements of Himachali girls who are excelling in every field. While appreciating Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, hailing from Himachal, for her achievements, he also pointed out that Himachali girls have entered Army nursing in large number this year as Lieutenants. It is a matter of great pride to honour Sainik School, Sujanpur Tira that has produced many officers for the army. Editor-in-Chief added that Himachali girls are front runners in every field. Parents of young girls need to be appreciated for encouraging and fulfilling dreams of their daughters, he said, while thanking Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Himachal Pradesh High Court, to grace the occasion with his presence. Talking about the efforts put in by Divya Himachal CMD Bhanu Dhamija, Editor-in-Chief Anil Soni said Divya Himachal has established credibility due to hard work put in by the team in past two decades.
