Will results of the recently held assembly elections change political scenario in Himachal also? The BJP is elated over party’s massive victory whereas results were not encouraging for the Congress. The state Congress can find solace in the fact that party assumed power in Punjab after 10 years. It lost to the BJP miserably in another neighbouring state Uttarakhand. Himachal shares boundaries with both these states.
The Congress will find it extremely difficult if its leaders reportedly change loyalty to join the BJP before assembly elections in the state as was witnessed in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, political observers point out. The Congress party suffered under cutting and BJP’s poll strategists used it fullest to their advantage in both these states. There is no denying the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as bigger brand after election results of these two states. This factor will definitely instill enthusiasm in party workers in Himachal also, political observers feel.
They opine that there will primarily be two factors in upcoming Himachal assembly election also; one is Modi factor and the second is Virbhadra factor. The BJP is eying a big opportunity for a victory in this hilly state. Both the main political parties, Congress and BJP are taking turns in forming government for nearly three decades now. It remains to be seen how the BJP uses its massive victory to turn the tide in its favour in this hilly state.
On the other hand, dissenting voices are still prevalent in Himachal Congress as some of its leaders have been echoing opposition’s voice. Will charismatic leaders of the BJP woo such Congress leaders to the party fold or election will turn out to be a battle between Modi versus Virbhadra ? One will have to wait till Himachal goes to polls later this year.

Are You Happy With The Announcement Of Unemployment Allowance?
Unemployment allowance had snowballed into a sort of controversy with opposition and some leaders in Congress demanding fulfillment of promise made in ruling party’s election manifesto. As a result, Chief Minister had to announce it in the budget. Surprisingly, 55% voters are not happy whereas only 42% are satisfied after this announcement.
