Mercury plummets in Himachal following rains

Shimla – The lower hills of Himachal Pradesh reeling under heat wave had some respite today as the mercury plummeted following widespread rains across the state. The high-altitude tribal areas had another spell of mild snowfall causing sharp fall in mercury in tribal valleys, the weather department said. The MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers at isolated places in mid and lower hills and rains or snow in higher hills over next four days due to fresh Western Disturbances.
