Industrial Package Helps Himachal’s Growth
This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of March 25, 2017, “Industrial Package Helps Himachal’s Growth”. Special industrial package granted by Vajpayee led NDA government in the Centre to Himachal in 2003 has certainly given an impetus to this hilly state’s growth. It has not only enhanced the pace of industrialisation but also provided employment opprtunities to thousands of youths. In addition, industrial areas are additing to the state excehquer also thus strengthening state’s economy. The state government must take more steps to carry on this momemntum for further industrialisation of Himachal in future also.

Relief To Farmers
Yogi government’s debt waiver decision up to one lakh rupees for small and marginal farmers of Uttar Pradesh is an appreciable step. It would have been better if the Centre had also announced debt waiver scheme for small and marginal farmers of the country. It is certainly a relief for the farmers but they also need help at other levels of farming. They have to face many problems from sowing to selling of their crops. Farmers will definitely get disappointed if they don’t get remunerative price for their produce. Minimum Support Price of every crop should be increased every year.
