Electoral Uncertainity

Himachal government again took certain decisions to woo beneficiaries before the Bharatiya Janata Party’s programme at Palampur. Virbhadra government is taking every decision to satisfy people in a bid to prove itself. Decisions to satisfy aspirations of employees indicate that such decisions will be taken this year like directly benefiting forty thousand employees. The government is not considering economic aspects as only political decisions will yield fruit in election year. The government has opened its coffers while touching many anomalies confronting employees in Himachal. However, the Congress faces uncertainty within the party whereas the BJP leadership gathered at Palampur to dispel any such impression. The challenges will be similar but the strong BJP high command is redefining the definition of politics. Its organisation is working for a change whereas only the government is carrying the burden of the Congress party.  The government affect the elections and Modi government is having impact on elections in different states in this political era. Virbhadra Singh wants a battle focused on state government versus Centre. There are two groups as the one is Virbhadra loyalist while the other aspires to stamp its dominance to change the structure within the Congress. The Congress will be at the support of government but the ruling party will not suffer much if BJP’s pointed attacks target Virbhadra Singh only. Amit Shah’s party is capable of demolishing many citadels is the fight is BJP versus Congress in the national perspective. This difference in politics can change the character of the BJP. Its brainstorming meet doesn’t consider Congress’s organsiation important but it needs to understand the government led by Virbhadra Singh. The Cabinet decision during past one year can not be taken as lightly as Himachal is witnessing quantitative achievements. Himachal’s development is no less than any other state and government’s decisions will the result. The Dhumal government had also given benefits to employees during the fag end of its tenure but it is difficult to read people’s mind. The opposition’s role will appear bigger if the electoral battle is fought as BJP versus Congress instead of centre versus State in Himachal.
