50 Industrialists Seek Subsidy

Industrialists in Himachal Pradesh have started filing applications to avail capital investment subsidy and transport subsidy from the Union Government. According to information, Industries Department has received more than 50 applications until now. These units had established and started operations before March 31, 2017 in Himachal. The Union Government recently has released an amount of Rs. 132 crore in the form of subsidy that has assured industrialists of help from sooner or later. The Industries Department too has started processing applications received so far. Notably, the subsidy amount granted by Union Government will be transferred directly into industrialists bank accounts. In such a situation, the job of state industries department is reduced to examine claims of industries and send genuine cases directly to the Union Government for approval. Applications received by field offices of the industry department are being forwarded to headquarters. The state committee will soon begin investigations of the applications to ensure whether claims made by the industrialists are genuine or not. The industrialists can apply for both capital and transport subsidies. But there is still some confusion among industrialists related to capital investment subsidy. But industries that have started operations before March 31 are bound to receive the benefit. Therefore the department has asked field offices to send the claims of industries to headquarters after reviewing it properly so that it does not take much time in processing and application could be forwarded to Union Government timely.

* Applications filed by industrialists for capital and transport subsidy are being processed. These would be forwarded to the Union Government after proper examining.
