htwhtwThe first ever soccer festival of Himachal concluded with the victory of Kautilya Hamirpur Heros in first edition of Divya Himachal Football League. In the final match, Hamirpur Heroes faced Goyal Motors Solan Panthers. Hamirpur team defeated Solan team via sudden-death penalty shootout as both the teams failed to score in regulation time and even in extra time. In regulation time both teams were tied and were given another 15 minutes extra time. Even that could not break the deadlock. Hamirpur Heros lifted the title as Solan team failed to covert their penalty. The winning team Hamirpur Heroes was awarded Rs. 1 lakh and trophy. Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma gave away prizes to the winners on during the concluding function.

Naved: Best Player Of The Series

Naved of Solan Panthers was adjudged best player of ‘Divya Himachal Football League 2017’. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Amit of the same team was given Golden Boot award with Rs. 10,000 in cash. Amit of Solan Panthers and Munish of Hamirpur Heroes were awarded Golden Gloves award and were also given Rs. 10,000.

Brilliant Chess Masters

htwHimachal Pradesh Chess Association organised a chess competition for different age groups at Indoor stadium in Una. In girls category, Santosh Kumari clinched the first spot followed by Kemi from Hamirpur and Kashvi Thakur from DPS at second and third positions respectively. In the fast chess or blitz game, Chahat of DPS bagged the first position, while Kemi from Hamirpur and Aditi Naag from DPS secured second and third places. In girls senior category, Kashvi Thakur and Aditi Nag make it to top spots. In under-25 category, Lakshit Rana bagged first prize whereas, Romit Verma and Ilyas Khan spotted on second and third positions. In girls category, Santosh Kumari once again emerged after while defeating Chahat.  Shimla’s Suryansh Verma and Devgya Khachi bagged first and second spots in under-13 category followed by Aditya Garg for third position. In girls under-13 category, Akanksha, Kashvi and Shreya secured top three positions respectively. In under-13 blitz competition, Suryansh Verma of Shimla emerged winner by defeating Amish Sood, whereas, Aditya Garg secured the third spot.

‘Divya Himachal Guru Dronacharya Award’

htwThree coaches of Himachal were honoured with ‘Divya Himachal Guru Dronacharya Award’. These coaches included Jagir Singh Randhawa, a basketball coach, Mehar Chand Verma, a kabaddi coach and Kehar Singh Patiyal, an athletics coach. Kehar Singh Patiyal was not present on the occasion and his wife Raksha Devi received the award.
