Monsoon Session
There can be serious discussion on monsoon during upcoming four sittings of Monsoon Session of Himachal Assembly. It is another matter that atmosphere within the house is not likely to be different from what we have seen across the state. The happenings were never so aggressive ahead of monsoon session in which various issues are likely to dominate ahead of political battle ahead. Entire power of the Congress will be seen in monsoon session but it remains to be seen how the house tackles the issues confronting the state. Will issues like Kotkhai, Tissa and others be pushed to the back stage before monsoon session or the BJP will intensify its salvos? There are many questions confronting the state. Are common people not ashamed of Kotkhai and Tissa incidents? However the political recourse will change if police stations are attacked in the wake of such incidents. What will happen to the image of Himachal if the race to destination spoils environment in the midst of fierce political battle between the ruling and opposition parties? We have placed politics above social arrangements and look for political solutions. The politicking can achieve its vested interests even in disintegrating social fabric when crowd threatens to burn a bazar in Chamba district. Participation of Dev Samaj to garner political mileage in the name of Sky Village project in Kullu district was witnessed. There are political overtures in Rohtang area against establishing Palchan Ropeway. Central University of Himachal Pradesh has already become a political football. Will monsoon session of assembly be marred by walkouts? It remains to be seen whether opposition proves itself better or a better discussion on important issues provides a hint about the coming government.
