newsThe Congress high command is learnt to have advised warring factions of Himachal Congress to march ahead unitedily in order to accomplish party’s Mission Repeat in upcoming general assembly elections. In the midst of furore, the party high command had called Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh but he could not make it to Delhi due to inclement weather conditions.

Sources, however, maintain that Chief Minister could soon visit Delhi to meet AICC national vice president Rahul Gandhi. Himachal Congress affairs in charge Sushil Kumar Shinde along with co in charge Ranjeeta Ranjan met Rahul Gandhi during which they reportedly gave a detailed feedback about political scenario of this hilly state.

Rahul Gandhi has reportedly advised all leaders to work unitedily. Shinde has begun Himachal tour from Chamba even as there are reports of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Sukhvinder Sukhu meeting Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. He has also detailed about state’s  political scenario in the run up to assembly elections due later this year.

It is learnt that a collective meeting of all leaders was proposed in Delhi but Chief Minister’s helicopter couldn’t take off due to inclement weather. Senior Congress leaders Vidya Stokes, Kaul Singh Thakur and GS Bali had been camping in Delhi. They returned after holding a meeting with Sushil Kumar Shinde. They have reportedly advocated not to undertake any changes under present circumstances.

They also sought directions from the central leadership for organisation and government to work unitedily without effecting any changes. If it happens, then Virbhadra supporters will face an acid test within the party, political observers point out. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh wants changes in the organisation but Congress high command is unlikely to take any such step under prevailing circumstances.
