Solan Best Vegetable Market In Country

Solan vegetable market has become first such mandi of the country that has received maximum payment through National Agriculture Market e-NAM scheme.  An online payment of Rs. 4 crore has been made to 4,000 farmers in seven months in the state through e-Nam. This is the biggest figure all over the country. No vegetable market in other states was able to touch this figure of online payment through e-NAM mode. According to information, 445 mandis from all across the country have been linked to E-NAM scheme, including 19 mandis of Himachal Pradesh. Solan vegetable market was the first mandi of the state that was linked to national agriculture market (NAM). This mandi now has earned top spot for successfully implementing E-NAM scheme. About 7,000 farmers from different districts of the state have been trained in last month while 4,000 farmers are linked with national agriculture market. These farmers can sell their products online from any of the mandi of the country as per their facility. This scheme has helped farmers fetch best of price for their produce. Solan vegetable market achieved a new milestone in this perspective recently. The market committee made online payment of four crore rupees to the farmers in a short span of time, whereas rest of 19 mandis of Himachal managed to make a payment of RS. 25 lakh to the farmers in the same time interval. The interesting part is that no other mandi of the country has made online payment to such a level. The online payment through e-NAM scheme is benefiting farmers the most, as they have got relief from the problem of check bounce given by the agents. The payment is credited online to the bank account of farmers within 24 hours of sale of the product through e-NAM. Apple, garlic and tomato are the crops that reportedly have fetched highest amount through online mode. The figure of online payment through e-NAM mode could witness unexpected jump in coming time, feels experts. The Market Committee Solan Secretary Prakash Kashyap said that Solan vegetable market has performed exceptionally well in national agriculture market. Solan mandi is the only mandi of the country that has made maximum online payments to the farmers, added he.
