Miss Himachal 2017 2nd runner-up Ayushi Sethi has been honoured with Rashtra Ratan Award. It was bestowed on her by Pratima Raksha Samman Samiti in a function held in Karnal in Haryana for rendering outstanding social services. Managing Director of BHS Group Gurpreet Singh has thanked the samiti for presenting the award. Such awards not only help in boosting morale of a person but also motivate them to excel more in future, he said. Ayushi Sethi had also won ‘Miss North India Beauty Queen’ title. While making rapid strides in modeling field, she had also won ‘Miss Himalaya’ contest. Pursuing BBA, Ayushi said that she would concentrate fully for a career in modeling after completing her studies. She is also getting offers for Punjabi music albums.

Weekend Tourism Gains Momentum In Queen of Hills

Weekend tourism is getting momentum in Queen of Hills, Shimla as tourist are arriving in large numbers ahead of Christmas and New Year eve celebrations. With the arrival of tourists from neighbouring states, the tourism  sector has received the much needed boost. Tourists are thronging different tourists destinations in and around Shimla, including Ridge, Mall Road, Kufri and other nearby areas. With the maximum and minimum temperature hovering between 15.0 degree and 5.0 degree Celsius, visitors find it pleasant. As a result, occupancy in most of the hotels have increased up to 80%, thus bringing cheers to hoteliers. The hospitality sector is expecting huge rush and bookings especially on Christmas and New Year eve as tourists reach here expecting snowfall. Hotel Association president Harnam Kukreja said that apart from weekend tourism, people are also booking in advance for Christmas and New Year eve celebrations. As the temperature is continuously dipping, the sale of woolen clothes too has increased with showrooms offering different schemes to allure customers.
