Ankush is National Assistant Volleyball Coach

Twenty four years old Ankush Katoch from Anni tehsil of Kullu district has been appointed as the national assistant volleyball coach. He will train the young volleyball team under the Sports Authority of India. Ankush has been conferred the title of youngest volleyball coach of India. At present, the newly appointed assistant coach is rendering his services at the national institute of sports in Bengaluru training young women volleyball team.

Himachal Shines In National School Games

In the 63rd National School Games, Himachal Predesh outscored others. Girls earned silver medal in kabaddi and bronze in handball. Boys with their phenomenal performance won a gold and a bronze medal in wrestling. As per the information, 29 teams of different categories participated in the games from all over the country. A total of 50 students, boys and girls, represented the state. Himachal was one step away from gold in kabaddi. Unfortunately, the team was beaten by Delhi in the final match  by 40-37(a narrow margin of 3).Nevertheless, they secured silver. Handball girls were able to get bronze. Sanjeet Kumar defeated wrestler of Delhi in the final match and grabbed gold in 84kg weight category. In 74kg weight category, Chandrashekhar won bronze. Authorities congratulated the winners and expressed delight.  Sports is scribing new chapters of history in the state. Hard work always pays back. Himachal Pradesh has proven this right. The youth is striving hard to take the state high up and the outcome is visible to us. There is more to come in the next coming years.
