Certainly, this news is big news for people in Himachal who love watching wrestling. Venues and dates have been decided for the upcoming WWE fights. Two seperate events will be held, one on April 28 in the Thodo Maidan of Solan and the other on may 5 in the Paddal Ground of Mandi.Himachalis, specially youths would get the opportunity to meet and see their stars fighting in the ring. As per information, 14 international wrestlers (ten male and four female) will come to Himachal in April for the proposed event. It was Dilip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali who met Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and sought ermission for the mega event, few days back. Former world heavy weight champion will also fight in the ring as he has promised to the youths earlier in a public meeting. Revenue generated from this mega event will be transferred to Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Free Entry For School Students

The government has decided not to charge any entry fee from students. They will be provided free tickets.

The mega star will also entertain people in the ring. Dilip Singh Rana himself is proposer of the scheduled event which is being organised by the state government.

Two Bronze Medals To HP In World Taekwondo Championship

Once again, girls of Himachal Pradesh are right at the top. Jayawanti and Heena Verma won bronze medals in the 6th World Taekwondo Championship held in the United Arab Emirates(UAE). The event was held from Feb 16 to 19 in the Sheikh Zayed Sports Stadium.Team head Prabhakar Sharma briefed media about the held event. He told that 794 sportspersons of 25 Nations took participation in this championship. From India 24 registered their appearance. Jayawanti won her bronze in the 73kg weight category. She is a police constable in Himachal Police. In the 57kg weight category, Heena Verma secured her bronze. Both have made their Nation proud in the field, he added.

Students Manifest Intellect In National Chess Championship

Himachali students earned the praise of many in the 7th National School Chess Championship held in Odisha. A group of students from Shimla district represented the state in the national levelchampionship. Chinmaya Mehta and Arun Verma remained the best players from the valley. Arun and Chinmaya scored six and five points respectively, in their events. They both improved their international rankings also.Other players, Saran Kumar Thakur and Romit Verma also did well at the venue as they exhibited their intellect. Himachal Pradesh State Chess Association expressed its delight over performance of students in the championship. It also urged the state government to honour these youngsters. Chess players of Himachal are performing exceptionally well in the field from last two years and it will not be a surprise if Himachal wins medals in upcoming events.
