Business Brief : BSNL Gears Up To Launch 4G Network

The BSNL has finally geared up to provide high speed 4G internet services to public in smart city Dharamshala by this year. A proposal related to this has also been sent to central office of the corporation. The tender process for the same will be floated after getting green signal from central office. Besides this, BSNL will also install modern towers in villages through US funds to provide better 3G speed services in far flung areas of villages. To give momentum to this initiative, the corporation is erecting towers at double the pace in Kangra and Chamba districts. Earlier, 88 towers were providing 3G services in these two districts. Now their strength has increased to 181 resulting in improvement in network in rural and urban areas. 47 new towers have been erected in Dharamshala, 38 in Palampur, 29 in Dehra and 34 new towers have been erected in Nurpur.

BSNL in the second phase has planned to erect 21 high speed 3G tower in Chamba district that will extend BSNL services to remote areas of the district too. BSNL has also come up with Aseem plan to reactivate old cut landline connections. Under the plan, consumers can now reactivate their old cut landline connections at an annual fee of Rs. 99. The corporations has also begun wireless broadband service to provide better internet connectivity services to its customers. This plan has been launched under the superfast internet speed broadband name. BSNL has established related BTS on trial basis at Dari in Dharamshala for now. BSNL General Manager Sunil Kumar told Himachal This Week that efforts are on to launch 4G internet services in Dharamshala.
