Journey To Grand Finale

Divya Himachal Media Group’s mega event ‘Miss Himachal’ is witnessing popularity among girls of the state. A tough competition was witnessed amongst participants during the two day semi finals held in Solan on March 14 and 15.The semifinals were conducted at Baba Resorts, situated at Kasauli in Solan district. First day registered the presence of 71 girls, selected from Palampur, Una, Sundernagar and Hamirpur auditions. The second day witnessed 88 girls appearing in the semifinals as they were shortlisted during Dharamshala, Solan and Shimla auditions. Himachal’s young ladies were enthusiastic and determined to lay hands on coveted title of Miss Himachal. Twenty finalists will be selected from these 159 semifinalists who then will compete in the grand finale to be held shortly.

Three Rounds

The contestants participating in the semifinals faced three rounds namely Dress, Introduction, and Talent Hunt.  In the first round, the girls had to wear black cocktail dress. The second was introduction round where articulation abilities of the girls were assessed. In the third and last round, participants had to show any inherent talent before the judges for which they had two minutes time. This round remained highly important as the girls had to perform activities on the stage like dancing, singing, poetry, story telling etc.

Golden Auditions

Judges also took golden auditions of girls who could not participate in earlier auditions due to some reasons. Selected girls got the opportunity to appear in the semifinals on the same day.

Participation And Selection

This year, the number of participants remained higher that shows the craze among young ladies for the beauty pageant.  A total of 350 girls from every nook and corner of the state appeared in auditions for ‘Miss Himachal 2018.’ Subsequently, 160 girls were shortlisted for the semifinals. Out of this number, 20 girls will get their positions fixed for the grand finale of the mega event. In addition to this, the Jury will also pick 10 fashion models.
