Upload farmer’s data on crop insurance portal: Dr.Baldi
Shimla – Additional Chief Secretary Finance Dr. Srikant Baldi expressed his concern for not uploading farmers’ data on crop insurance portal by the banks for providing crop insurance under Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme and revised weather based crop insurance scheme, resulting the farmers were not getting timely benefit of insurance cover. He asked the banks for uploading online or offline data within a week period, else the recovery would be effected from the bank Managers concerned. He said the coverage under the scheme was just 14 per cent and claims were also less. He was presiding over the 147th meeting of state level Bankers Committee here today.
