‘Photography An Expression Of Creativity’

Vipin Sharma

newsA chance entry into a photography class not only transformed the life of 20-year-old Pranjal Marwaha but it marks an important aspect of his life today. It all started in 2010 when he was a class IX student and today seven years later, it is all about giving his creative inner thoughts a platform. His search for interesting pictures has taken him to several countries around the world where his creative side has been fully exposed. His valuable experience and passion together led him to click pictures of various hues which include pictures capturing animals, nature, landscape, even rain drops that leave a brilliant moistness on the green leaves which only the eyes of a photographer can capture.

Exhibition of photographs titled “Perspectography, Demystifying the Colours of Life” displayed for three days at Chandigarh’s Government Museum found visitors from various sections of the society. The visitors  included students, art lovers, professionals from all fields with avid support from his father Navneet Marwaha who is the State Drug Controller, mother Rashmi and elder sister Vasvi. Exhibition was held under the banner of Photographic Society of Chandigarh.

He has been part of three international photography workshops and this has helped him to understand the fine sides of photography. This gave him an opportunity to improve and improvise on his earlier understanding of this profession which he had gained in school. Having travelled to various countries of Europe, South East Asia besides India has helped him experiment with various sectors like nature photography, still photography as well as capturing emotions, even if it means a lovable relation between mother and a baby monkey.    His experience has taught him to capture what most of us usually miss while viewing nature at its best or even a small happening like a friendly fight between a group of birds which presents a scenic lesson.

Capturing reflections is his favourite as it provides a dual view of scenic pleasure. His search for interesting pictures has taken him to countries like France, Germany, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore, Austria etc., While the family may be resting after a day’s visit to popular tourist places, Pranjal who has a keen eye for capturing artistic pictures usually strolls out at night to capture whatever he finds outstanding. It could include a star filled sky, a horizon fading into night, the shadows of the night or even an impressive architecture of a large shopping mall.“Photography for me is an expression of my appreciation for the nature and all that it has to offer which could be birds, bees, landscape or even the tireless night” says Pranjal. He hopes to hold more such exhibitions in the future with another one being planned for Himachal.
