BJP may pick elected MLA as new CM

Shimla – Having returned to the power with a thumping majority in Himachal, the BJP may pick one of its MLAs as state’s new chief minister. Five times MLA Jairam Thakur is being reportedly considered as a frontrunner. Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Narendra Singh Tomar, party’s central observers, reached Shimla today to hold consultations with the newly elected party MLAs to elicit their views and arrive at consensus on the name of a new chief minister.
