Budgetary Sops In Election Year

This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of March 11, 2017, “Budgetary Sops In Election Year”. Chief Minister had announced unemployment allowance for educated youths as there there was a growing demand for the same from different quarters. As usual there have been mixed repsonse to the budgetary provisions . The ruling party leaders claiming the budget will satisfy every section whereas opposition has termed it as a jugglery of figures. The focus has been on the farm sector and creation of jobs. Will budget help the ruling party to achieve its ‘Mission Repeat’? Only general assembly election results will tell.

New Pulses

Consumers will get new pulses at ration depots under public distribution system system from next month. It is heartening to learn that Food and Civil Supplies Corporation thinks about consumers also. It is another matter that the corporation has seldom succeeded in fulfill its promises made to the consumers. If at all the Food and Civil Supplies Corporation has fulfilled its promises, the ration has not reached depots across the state. Let us once again  believe what the corporation is promising whose result will be known next month.
