Kochi-1 (koch1) Card And Kochi-1 (koch1) App For Hassle Free Traveling

On the occasion of the commission of Kochi Metro the Union minister Venkiah Naidu and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan unveiled the Kochi-1 (Koch1) card and Kochi-1 (Koch1) mobile application respectively. The card and mobile app will make travel a convenient and hassle-free experience for commuters. KMRL-Axis Bank Kochi-1 card allows cashless commuting along with an enhanced shopping experience. The Kochi-1 mobile app enables commuters to manage their card and generate QR code tickets for travel. After inaugurating the project, Prime Minister Narendra Modi applauded the efforts to launch the two innovate products. “Kochi-1 card is a multi-purpose, prepaid contactless Rupay card which can be used to travel in Metro and also like normal debit card. Kochi is one of the few cities in the world and first city in the country to have a smart card which can be used in other modes of transport,” Modi said. The prime minister said Indian banks and financial institutions were invited through bid for associating with automatic fare collection system. The Kochi-1 mobile app is developed with a long term vision. The mobile app has an electronic valet integrated to it to link it to the Kochi-1 card.”Initially, it will enable citizens of Kochi to avail Metro services. In future it will fulfil all travel related requirements,” Modi said.
