CM distributes keys of flats to slum dwellers

Parwanoo – Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today distributed the keys of flats constructed for the slum dwellers involving an expenditure of Rs.15 crore under Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme here today. In his message on the occasion, he said that it was necessary to re-habilitate the slum dwellers for their sustainable living. As Parwanoo was a gateway to Himachal, the town should give a clean impression to the visitors. Nowadays, the number of slum dwellers was rising quickly as migrants usually leave their villages to seek better prospects in urban areas. Many end up in overcrowded slums, lacking even basic facilities and with no claim on the land or the property, he added.
