HP implements health scheme for elders

Shimla – Himachal Pradesh government today implemented the Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme (SCHIS) to provide easy access to curative geriatric health care services by way of additional cover, an official release said. The scheme would provide top up coverage of Rs 30,000 per senior citizen to all existing Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY) smart card holders, it said. This would be in addition to the basic coverage of Rs 30,000 in Trust and Society mode, an official spokesperson said here.
