IPSC Girls Cricket Tournament

During the 17th IPSC All India Girls Cricket Tournament being organised at Pinegrove School, Dharampur, four league matches were played recently. The first match was played between the host Pinegrove and Punjab Public School, Nabha. Pinegrove School emerged winner in this battle. While batting first, Nabha Public School put 63 runs on the score board in 20 overs. Pinegrove School chased the score in just seven overs. Himani Gulati batted well and made highest 23 runs for her team, whereas Passing contributed 11 runs. Passing also took four wickets for which she also got Player of the Match award.

In another match played between Scindia Girls School, Gwalior and Ashok Hall Girls School, Uttarakhand in which the former team thrashed the latter. Ashok Hall Girls School chose to bat first and put 79 runs on the score board in 20 overs. Lema Ahmad scored 34 runs, while Ananya made 11 runs. Scindia Girls played well and by losing only two wickets they won the match. Ishita Gupta made 20 runs whereas, Divyanshi contributed 18 runs.

Earlier, LK Singhania School, Gotan defeated DPS, RK Puram, Delhi in a very interesting match. LK Singhania School girls chose to bat first and made 114 runs with the help of Shrishti’s 17 runs and Sunny’s 11 runs. While chasing the target, DPS, RK Puram could only score 102 runs. Yashika Singh of LK Singhania School was given Player of the Match title. In the last league match, Mayo Girls College, Ajmer defeated LK Singhania School, Gotan in a very easy chase. Vedika of Mayo Girls College, Ajmer awarded Player of the Match title.

SVM Jangla To Play National Kabaddi Championship

Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Jangla in Shimla is all set to participate in All India Kabaddi Championship to be played from October 29 at Reewa in Madhya Pradesh. The school team had earlier participated in North India Kabaddi Championship held in Haryana. In this championship, the team had played well and defeated Punjab in the final. The team consists, Anchal, Ankita, Sharmila, Arushi, Akriti, Minakshi, Tanvi, Jahnvi Pandey, Vanshika, Pallavi and Jahnvi Sharma. The entire school, wished the team for performing better in rthe upcoming challenge. Usha Sharma, school principal encouraged them for doing their best.

Shimla Table Tennis Championship

The district level table tennis championship, played at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Shimla brought out brilliant skills of players. In boys, under-12 category, Viransh Negi defeated T Siru  to won the final. In boys under-15 catgeory, Ansh Saini defeated Pranjal to clinch the winner’s title. Jatin clinched third spot in this section. In under-18, Ansh Saini secured top spot whereas, Bhupesh Saini got second position. In boys doubles, Jagmeet Singh and Ansh Saini bagged first position, whereas, Pranjal and Ritesh remained on the second spot. In veteran category, Ashok Chauhan defeated NK Attri. Winners were awarded at the end of the championship.
