Himachal recorded a massive victory by an innings and 233 runs over Jammu 7 Kashmir in Cooch Behar Cricket Trophy match played at Nadaun. J & K team was bowled out for 228 runs in the first innings and could score only 152 runs in the second outing. Himachal had scored 633 runs in the first innings with centuries from Mohammad Aslan Khan 9106) and Ayush Jamwal (157). While bowling, Ayush also scalped five wickets. With this victory, Himachal got seven points from the match. However, Himachal failed to qualify for the next round due to its defeat to Uttar Pradesh team in last match

Priyanka Secures Spot In 63rd National School Games  

Student of Government Senior Secondary School Sandhu, Shimla, Priyanka Thakur has been selected for the U-19 girls kabaddi national school games. The competition is beingheld in Delhi from January 3 to 9. She performed extremely well in the recent block and state level tournaments. Priyanka recently has attended a training cum preparatory camp at Nalagarh for the forthcoming tournament. Principal Naresh Gupta, PTI Shivlal Sharma and DPI Narender Kanwar have collectively expressed their gratification for her selection in the 63rd national school games.  In an interaction with media, she said her selection is the outcome of her endeavour and the love and support of her family and school.

Rajinder Sharma Appointed Observer at PBL

General Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association and the member of Indian Badminton Association Rajinder Sharma has been appointed as an observer at the fourth edition of Premier Badminton League. He will render his services in Lucknow. The observer briefed media about the schedule of matches to be held at Lcknow. Matches are to be played between Bangluru Blasters and Mumbai Rockets, Awadhe Warriors and Ahmedabad Smash Masters, and Chennai Smashers and Delhi Dashers in the battleground. Dr. Hemant Biswa Sharma, president of Badminton Association of India who also holds the important portfolios like health, education, and finance in the Assam Government, has appointed him as member of Para Badminton India and the tournament committee also.

HP Women Boxing Team To Punch In Haryana

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh State Boxing Association(HPSBA) has announced its team for the National Women Boxing Championship 2018. The contest will begin from January 6 at Rohtak, Haryana. There was a short training camp organized for girls in Shimla, perceiving the importance of championship. Pallavi will be representing the state in 49kg weight category, Tanuja in 51kg, Jamna in 54kg, Kiran in 57kg, Reenashri in 60kg, Rupa Rani in 64kg, Shashi Negi in 69kg, Ankita in 75kg, Rekha in 81kg, and Paima Chotan in 81kg plus weight category.

Una To Host Junior Football Trophy

Una: Dr. VC Rai Junior National Football Trophy will commence from January 28 in the Una. General secretary, state football association Deepak Sharma informed media about the scheduled tournament in which 16 teams will take part. There will be four pools having four teams in each group. A total of 27 matches will be played in the scheduled tournament. In addition to this, general secretary told that association will final its junior football team by Jan 20.
