Miss Himachal Runner-Up Stirs Audience With Pahari Music Album

htw‘Miss Himachal 2016’ runner-up, Supreet Rupam has added another video in her portfolio. ‘Nava Zamana’, a pahari album has already made its fans in the state with its teaser and now has been launched. Music lovers have had a great taste of pahari music in a new shape. People like the new song with a touch which is a unique kind of music in Himachal. Before this, no rap version of pahari music has been launched. Achal Sood from Pathiar is the rapper, who totally nailed it with his superb rap music. Supreet Rupam seems awesome once again as it is her second video after ‘Beparwah’. Music director of this album is Cafy Khan and lyricist is Achal Sood. Achal and Sandy both created the video album in which two rap songs are included.

Riot Staged At Gaiety Theatre

Himachal This Week, Shimla

htwA theatrical performance ‘Khuda Hafiz’ was staged at Gaiety Theatre Shimla. The play was based on communal riots. A thought pondering and heart rendering performance of ‘Khuda Hafiz’, was creation of Samresh Basu and presented by Rangpriya Theatre Society. The production was appreciated by audience for its design, craft, lights, music, acting and content. Director Samresh Basu complimented young team of actors, technicians and the director for the thought provoking presentation, their excellent teamwork and above all their praiseworthy coordination between various creative departments. Different situations, after a communal riot, were presented through the play. In the beginning when it showed a curfew situation and different people who are stuck into it. The story showed two people in which there one is Muslim and the other is Hindu. The story then tells that how they both realised that they have to help each other to get out of the situation by forgetting the religious differences. After the end of the curfew, they both hug each other and say ‘Khuda Hafiz’. Rajiv  Sharma and Hitesh Bhargva were seen in the main roles.

Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients

htw(Measuring cup used, 1 cup = 250 ml)

* 200 to 250 grams paneer (cottage cheese) four to five medium size tomatoes or two cups of diced tomatoes-pureed

* 1 or 2 green chili- slit

* 1 ginger and 3-4 garlic – crushed or ground

* 1 bay leaf, 1 teaspoon kasuri methi,1 teaspoon garam masala or tandoori masala½ teaspoon, red chili powder,1 tablespoon oil + 1 or 2 tablespoon butter

* 18 to 20 cashews- soaked in water for 20 minutes. if you have time, then ground with some water to a smooth paste.

* A few coriander leaves for garnishing – optional

How To Prepare Recipe

Heat oil and butter in a pan and add bay leaf and saute until the oil become fragrant. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute till the raw aroma disappears.Add the tomato puree and stir well. Now, add red chilli powder after 2-3 minutes and stir again, saute until the oil starts to leave the sides of the tomato paste. Add cashew paste and saute the cashew paste until the oil begins to leave the sides of the masala paste. Add water and stir on a low flame. Add green chilies, salt and sugar and simmer till the curry begins to thicken. Add the paneer cubes and cook them for 2 to 3 minutes till they become soft. Don’t cook for a long time as the paneer will become dense. Lastly add crushed kasuri methi & garam masala. Stir. Garnish paneer butter masala with coriander leaves and serve it with plain naan, garlic naan, rotis or steamed basmati or jeera rice.
