htwTaking inspiration from ‘Home Stay’ scheme, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda is all set to start ‘Birth Waiting Home’ scheme. This scheme will benefit those pregnant ladies who come for delivery to the hospital but are sent back in case they are not admitted in the hospital. Under the scheme, there will be a provision of stay at birth waiting home for pregnant woman and one attendant accompanying her. Like in case of home stay scheme, the pregnant woman will get home like atmosphere which she needs the most at this crucial juncture. Notably, TMC administration had sent a proposal in this regard to the state government. Sources said, the state government has given its approval to the project and the hospital administration is awaiting written orders. All formalities related to the project have already been completed. The scheme will not only benefit pregnant women but will also provide employment to natives of adjoining villages. The other benefit this scheme has in offer to pregnant women is that in case of any emergency during stay at birth waiting home, she can be shifted to the hospital within in few minutes in an ambulance. It is pertinent to mention here that TMC covers about five to six districts and pregnant women from far away places come here for treatment. During delivery period, sometimes relatives rush the lady to the hospital but are left totally clueless when doctors direct them to visit again after three to four days depending upon the stage of pregnacy. This not only increases worries of pregnant lady but also relatives accompanying her. A fear constantly prods the pregnant women and her relatives accompanying as to what will happen if labour pains again start at night? However, this initiative will be a big relief in such cases.

To Hire Rooms On Rent

The TMC administration will hire rooms on rent in adjoining villages for its ‘Birth Waiting Home’ scheme. However the mandatory condition to take a room on rent is that it should have an attached toilet. The TMC will pay the room rent and two times food charges to the owner. The initiative will begin with 10 houses which could be enhanced depending upon response to the scheme.

* The real objective behind ‘Birth Waiting Home’ scheme is to provide home like facility to pregnant women during their stay here. This initiative will reduce worries of pregnant women and also also provide employment to villagers.

htwOn the occasion of the fourth World Urdu Conference of the NCPUL (National Council for Promotion of Urdu) in New Delhi, Mahendra Nath Pandey, the MOS, HRD stated that the Modi Government is ready to help Urdu in all walks of life as it is the language of India and Indians but more so — the language of the heart! He also added that Urdu, a language of syncretic values must not be victimized in any way. Shahnawaz Hussain, the spokesperson of the ruling party stated that Urdu has been the language of composite culture. It has been very popular among all sections of society; however, it is facing some crisis regarding its continuity and acceptance. He stated that at this fourth World Urdu Conference, all the connoisseurs of Urdu must join their heads together in order to give the language its rightful place. Prof Irteza Karim, the Director, NCPUL told that the Council happens to be the biggest government Urdu platform in any country as it has the biggest budget, something that is not seen even in Pakistan, a country that boasts of Urdu being its national language. Karim added that in order to popularize Urdu, the NCPUL has also come up with Urdu monthlies, namely, ‘Bachon ki Dunia’, ‘Urdu Dunia’, ‘Khwateen ki Dunia’ and ‘Fikr-o-Tehqeeq’. Udit Raj, MP, stated that Urdu has been castigated as it has been attached to Islam and Muslims where languages have no religion and region and belong to one and all. Not only this, the NCPUL on its portal, is also continuing with simple lessons to teach Urdu to the non-Urdu speaking clientele who love Urdu ‘sher-o-shayari’ (poetry). According to eminent Urdu writer Shams-ur-Rehman Farouqi, Urdu used to be the lingua franca during the Mughal and English Raj, however, in the present scenario, it has lost its pinnacle of glory because of its followers only. Scholars, intellectuals and writers from almost 12 countries were in Delhi to promote and project Urdu language through seminar, mushaira, dastangoi, discussions and drama. People believe that ‘Urdu ke ache din aa gaye hein!’
