Dharamshala – The Cabinet today revoked excise policy adopted by the previous government besides according nod to abolish Beverages Corporation for sale of liquor. The Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

Dharamshala – The four daylong winter session of Himachal assembly began at Tapovan near here with Protem Speaker Ramesh Dhawal administering oath to the elected members. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur took oath followed by other members of the house. The house was adjourned for the day thereafter.

Shimla – Three people were today killed and as many injured when their vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge in Chopal area of the district. Bodies of the deceased were recovered while the injured were admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College.

Shimla – Biting cold persisted in most parts of Himachal Pradesh even as the state witnessed a dry and sunny day and day temperatures rose marginally. High-altitude tribal areas groaned under biting cold wave conditions. Continuation of dry spell has been predicted by the MeT department.

Dharamshala – Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has said that cases registered on political considerations during the previous government’s tenure would be withdrawn. Interacting with media persons here, Chief Minister said law will take its own course in rest of the cases.
