Tribute To Martyrs

We have been setting the platform to attract investors but a corrupt Himachali officers points towards the prevailing rot in the system.  The arrest of an officer for graft in Chandigarh has brought to the fore many questions. Is this the reality of industrial revolution and compulsion of investors in Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh belt that they face departmental hurdles at every stage? Thanks to one investor who could dare to expose such layers of corruption in Himachal. There would be many trying to squeeze investors as this vicious cycle is not restricted to one officer. We are under the illusion that Himachalis are simple people and corruption is not prevalent here.  But the fact is that corrupt syndicate is also evolving here. Truth will come to the fore when inquiry against the arrested official proceeds further. It also poses a question mark on the fate of investor meets held in previous years as ultimately the investors is the ultimate victim in investment proposals. Only an investor can reveal truth behind obtaining no objection certificates while getting signatures of officials. It is difficult to gauge the loss of opportunities in the backdrop of unclear policies, government’s control and administrative pressure. People are forced to ponder over the prevailing work culture in every department. It would not be exaggeration if we call it mafia system rather than corrupt system. If it was not true that Himachali officers wouldn’t have invested in real estate near Chandigarh. It needs to be understood as to how forty percent properties in these areas are acquired by Himachalis and the percentage of hidden corruption money in these transactions. The system doesn’t turn a blind eye without the possible political patronage. A new legacy has surfaced as influential officers remain on plum posts due to the absence of transfer policy and norms. The concerned ministers also owe an answer as to who will curtail such corrupt officers. The departmental and corporation’s plots would have been sold by now had it not been difficult to establish an industrial unit in BBN area. It is not a question of one department but others are also posing hurdles in the industrial development.
