Sony Xperia XZ Premium

Sony Xperia XZ PremiumJapanese smartphone maker Sony has launched its Xperia XZ Premium flagship smartphone in India. Priced at Rs 59,990, the Xperia XZ Premium is the first smartphone in India to launch with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor. It sports a 5.5-inch 4K IPS LCD display. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There’s also space for microSD card expansion. Running Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, Sony Xperia XZ Premium is secured with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 both at the front at the back. For imaging duties, the Xperia XZ Premium has a 19MP rear camera with OIS, PDAF and LED flash. Having a sensor size of 1/2.3″, the smartphone’s camera is capable of recording 4K resolution video at 30fps, as well as HD quality super slow-mo video at 960fps. There’s also a 13MP front-facing snapper, which can record video in Full HD resolution. It includes stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience. Connectivity options include everything from 4G LTE to USB Type-C, with a 3,230mAh battery (having Quick Charge 3.0 support) rounding off the spec sheet.

Samsung Galaxy S8+

Samsung Galaxy S8+Samsung has launched its Galaxy S8+ in India at Rs 74,990. The smartphone, besides featuring 6GB RAM also comes with 128GB inbuilt storage. The devices become available starting June 9 in the country. The company in April this year launched its Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+smartphones’ 4GB RAM version in India at Rs 57,900 and Rs 64,900 respectively. Besides the bumped up RAM and inbuilt storage, everything else stays the same with the two handsets. Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ have edge-to-edge curved displays, something that the company calls ‘Infinity display’. When watched in landscape mode, 21:9 movies fill the Galaxy S8’s 18.5:9 aspect ratio screen. The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ ‘Infinity Display’ with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 570ppi pixel density. The Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch QuadHD+ ‘Infinity Display’ with 529ppi pixel density. Both are powered by an octa-core Exynos Series 9 processor. They feature 12MP dual-pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS along with an 8MP autofocus camera with f/1.7 aperture.

Motorola Moto C

Motorola Moto CMotorola, after launching its new line of budget Moto C smartphones in the US and other select countries, has finally launched the series in India. The Moto C costs Rs 5,999 in the country and will be available across all leading stores in over 100 cities soon. The Moto C was announced last month in two variants – the 3G version and a 4G version. India has received a 4G version of the smartphone. The Moto C runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is powered by a MediaTek MT6737M quad-core processor. It comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display. The device has 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and supports dual SIM cards as well. Users can further expand the storage up to 32GB by adding a microSD card. The smartphone has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash along with a 2MP front-facing camera with LED flash and sports a micro-textured rear panel.
