IIT Mandi Serving Himachal

This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of May 20, 2017, “IIT Mandi Serving Himachal”. Technologies developed in different sectors suitable to the hilly geographical areas are proving benefecial for Himachal. Such innovations can go a long way in improving the life of people in this hilly state. Apart from producing quality human resources, the IIT Mandi has established a niche in the national prespective during short period after its establishment. It has focussed its reaserch projects on problems confronting Himachal and has come up with innovations in diverse fields. It will grow in stature to solve problems and serve Himachal in a big way in future.

Voters’ Mood

Assembly elections are due in Himachal later this year and the state government has focused its attention on developmental activities. The government has picked up the pace to woo people as major decisions are being taken in every meeting of the Cabinet. The BJP is also gearing up for the elections. Electorate of Himachal are wise and their mood can only be read before elections. Leaders have also understood that they would have to perform and people can no longer be allured only by promises.
