Even as VS Mankotia has changed his political loyalties many times in the past, yet he is trying to underline the difference between good and bad in politics once again. However, people fail to understand as to why he changes sides time and again even as Mankotia, being an ex-serviceman uses politics as a weapon. But one thing is clear. His conduct indicates how difficult it is to be relevant and successful in political arena, feel political observers.

People will ask Mankotia about his vision for Himachal as he has remained MLA for five times. It is easy to gain sympathy by showing angst as depicted by Mankotia but no one succeeds without using one’s potential. It is difficult to endorse Mankotia’s political decisions as he has been in and out of the Congress, feel political observers. How many times he opposed Virbhadra Singh only to strike a truce later on? What was his compulsion that he found vice chairman post of tourism development board useful even after losing assembly election? What was his accountability after enjoying benefits of the post? Why didn’t he relinquish the post when the BJP was questioning appointment of Congress leaders on unimportant posts?

VS Makotia will have to answer such questions as he has been challenging Virbhadra Singh more than even the opposition BJP, observers point out. There is no time for a battle between Virbhadra versus Mankotia now but youth energy can’t be ignored under such circumstances. And it is also a question of Mankotia’s credibility.
