BPL certificates to be issued at panchayat level

Shimla – A Spokesman of Rural Development Department disclosed here today that the Government has taken a decision to issue BPL certificates to eligible selected families at Gram Panchayat level itself for convenience of persons living below poverty line. The BPL certificate will be issued in the name of head of the family with inclusion of names of all members of the family in the certificate so that other members could also get benefits of scheme meant for BPL families. The panchayat Secretary or panchayat Sahayak have been authorized to issue BPL certificates on the basis of updated BPL lists.
