Investment Areas

A blue print regarding construction of roads is visible before assembly elections result in Himachal. Two new four lane roads touching Mandi and Shimla can open up new opportunities of development and self employment. Roads connecting Kangra with Mandi and Shimla can usher in economic changes in this hilly state as reflected in detailed project reports of both these projects. It has ensured minimum displacement of people by striking balancing speed with progress. These roads touch sixty percent population of the state and it has been ensured not of demolish various markets by planning bypasses, flyovers and tunnels on these routes. It is a relief for big towns as vehicular traffic will be diverted on national highways and construction of tunnels will improve connectivity. Roads are being constructed on advanced parameters across the world as China has shown the way to reach difficult hilly terrains by constructing an elevated road along side a river. Himachal should also solve problems of employment and urbanisation through these national projects. We believe that half a dozen investment areas should be developed along four big road projects in this hilly state. These special areas will will solve problems of urbanisation, industrialisation and employment besides boosting tourism sector. Investment can be attracted to boost economy if satellite towns, new markets, film city, tourist destination, hill station and industrial and information technology parks are developed in the changing backdrop of road projects. People losing their livelihood after national green tribunal’s decisions can be rehabilitated through such ventures. Expansion of roads can usher in new era in Himachal as geographical, mental and political barriers will be shattered to uproot regionalism when travel time from Chamba to Shimla is reduced to four hours.
