Cashless Transaction In Hamirpur

One thing that demonetisation definitely has done is that it has promoted cashless transactions and given impetus to digital India initiative. However cashless transaction was popular among educated class and urban people earlier too. But in a state like Himachal, hard cash only means business. No doubt cashless transactions have popularity among educated class and big  cities here too. But not to that extent. Now Gurpreet Singh, owner of Jugnu fruits, in Hamirpur has started cashless transaction facility in his vegetable shop. Consumers can now purchase vegetables through this shop only by mere thumb impression and aadhar card number. No need to carry cash and wallet now to purchase vegetables. Money on bank account number will suffice. And his new initiative has gifted him a long queue of consumers. In fact it has landed him into leading vegetable seller of the area. Notably, this facility has not been started by some bigger shops here in Hamirpur.

The vegetable seller has taken a biometric machine from Canara Bank and connected to mobile phone. The consumers can pay the amount for their purchase by putting in their aadhar number on phone and giving thumb impression on biometric machine. The amount is automatically deducted from the account of the consumer.  Gurpreet Singh while talking to Himachal This Week said that this facility by him has not only extended facility to consumers but he too is now relived of the burden of keeping change money to returns to consumers. The adoption of cashless transaction facility has also resulted in a bump in business, added Gurpreet.
