Jai Ram Thakur was considered to be the frontrunner for chief minister’s chair after BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Prem Kumar Dhumal lost the election. And he was elected leader in party’s legislature meeting. Himachal’s public have huge expectations from Jai Ram Thakur, a beholder of clean image and reputation. As Jai Ram Thakur belongs to a poor family, he can better understand the pain and sufferings of poor and will give significant contribution for the welfare and upliftment of deprived classes. Jai Ram Thakur has been elected for fifth time and has also remained cabinet minister in Himachal government. Therefore it can be assumed that he has exhaustive political experience that will benefit the state in coming times.  People of Himachal hves given a clear message through state assembly verdict that there was no wave during elections here. And it was only personal contact and social service rendered by candidate that mattered. And the positive aspect of these elections remains those faces who left the state in search of livelihood. They are contributing in progress of the state with the hard work and labour they put in foreign lands. Now the question arises if they can achieve special place in foreign countries, what were the conditions that forced them to migrate from one’s native place? Why Himachal government could not create such opportunities wherein human resource of the state could amass special achievements with his skills inside his own state? Will the new government prove successful in giving fruitful results in this front?

Besides human resource management there will be ample sectors where public have huge expectation from Jai Ram Thakur led BJP government. It includes creation of job opportunities, better road connectivity, improvement in healthcare etc. Respecting these sentiments, it is the duty of elected representatives to rise above petty politics and personal interests and put in efforts to improve the lives of public.

People have given opportunity to different faces to serve the state since its inception. And every chief minister including Y.S. Parmar, Shanta Kumar, Prem Kumar Dhumal and Virbhadra Singh have given contributed for the progress and development of the state with their visionary policies. Now it is the turn of Jai Ram Thakur to lead Himachal towards new heights of progress and development.
