Jobs,Jobs,Jobs

This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of November 18, 2017, “Himachal’s Quest… Jobs, Jobs, Jobs”. There is no denying the fact that unemployment is the biggest challenge in this hilly state before any government. As job possibilities in the government sector are limited, no government can accomodate such a huge number of unemployed persons. However, it can initiate various measures and projects that helps in generating employment in private sector also. Himachal has various sectors where employment opprtunities can be created but that needs framing of proper policies and their implementation on the ground.

Grow Fruit Trees

It present a bad picture when tourists see barren land along side roads. Where have the tree offering shade and fruits gone? Water falls and natural water resources have disappeared with the construction of roads. Potholed roads and history of accidents also scares tourists. We can’t turn a blind eye towards  such facts even as the state government is spending on tourism development and related  infrastructure. It only requires will if the government wants to improve this situation. The government should take initate for growing fruit plants along side roads.
