Shining Sports Stars

This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of November 25, 2017, “Shining Sports Stars”. It is indeed heartening to know that Himachali men and women sportspersons are excelling at national and international. And their achievements are not restricted to any particular sport but they are performing outstandingly in different sports dsiciplines. Be it kabaddi, athletics, cricket or any other sport. It proves that there is no dearth of talent in this hill state also. It is only a matter of providing them infrastructural facilities and proper training to hon their talent for excelling at different levels in sports.

Reservation Lollypop

Few castes are demanding reservation in jobs after their inclusion in other backward classes while others are protesting for abolishing reservation. Surprisingly, there are agitations for seeking reservation even after seven decades of independence. Sometimes they assume violent proportions and harm public property. I don’t think that any party would dare to end reservation as they treat it as step to assume power in the country. Those protesting to seek reservation should intrtospect whether they need it in present era.
