Much has changed in the country in last two decades. The new trend on economic fronts and a wave of brand culture has its affects on middle class Indian mind too adding wings to their desires and expectations. Today a large number of our young force is going to other states and foreign countries for education and in search of job, as the charm of glitzy lifestyle and mall culture of big cities fascinates them. On the other hand, parents belonging to middle class families have a challenge of educating and making their kids self dependent. The young generation is also putting in hard work to grab lucrative salary packages. Some of them are achieving success in this endeavour while some have many obstacles and hindrances in this path. Today’s youth is overburdened under the load of his expectations and ambitions. And if success is not achieved timely, it adds to frustration and depression.

Our youths are worried of the deplorable condition of education system, as different type of education patterns are running inside one country. Schools and colleges are facing shortage of teachers and youth is rendered unemployed even after attaining a degree. The private and government machinery is exploiting the educated class by paying them much less in commensurate to their qualification. The strength of young population is much more in India as compared to other countries of the world. Sixty five percent of India’s population is below 35 years of age. Keeping this figure in mind, the Indian government perceived to provide India its much desired place in the world by identifying the capabilities of young force, empower them by providing ample opportunities under the national youth policy formulated in 2014.

More than 12 crore youths are unemployed at present in India. Out of it, 25% falls in 20 -24 years age group and 17% falls in 25-29 years age group. The literacy rate no doubt has increased to a great extent in recent past in India but job opportunities could not be created in that ratio. Akshat Gandhi, an engineering student from Gujarat while addressing the 7th Indian student parliament at Pune commented how a country where people are fighting to prove themselves more backward can develop? It is the demand of time that policy maker should try to understand the youth mind and listen to their opinions so that their participation for nation building can be ensured. The visionary youth should be given representation in parliament and legislative assemblies so that their abilities can be used constructively for nation building.
