Challenges Galore At Tapovan

This is regarding Himachal This Week’s cover story of January 6, 2018, “Challenges Galore at Tapovan”. People have high aspirations from the new BJP government in this hilly state. Successive governments have undertaken development across Himachal but hopes rise further from new government. The hilly state has meager financial resources and it always looks forward to centre for financial assitance to  implement different projects. Though every department is important for development of different sectors but Himachal needs to take immediate steps to generate resources, improve connectivity, boost tourism sector, rapid industrialisation and other areas to create ample employment opportunities for educated unemployed Himachalis.

Monkey Menace

Leaders made tall promises to garner votes ahead of Himachal assembly elections in 2017. However, these promises are forgotten after winning election. Main problem confronting people was of stray animals and monkey menace.  Politicians promised to find a solution to these problems but these issues still remain unsolved. Monkeys have rendered cultivable land as barren. The government should take concrete steps to tackle these problems so that people are again attracted towards agriculture.
