Shiva Keshvan Bids Bye To Winter Olympics

Six time Olympian for India Shiva Keshvan has said goodbye to Winter Olympics after a long career of two decades in the games. He is the first Indian to compete in Luge at the Winter Olympic Games. The Olympian remained at 34th position in his last Luge competition. Shiva Keshvam hails from snowy region Manali of Himachal Pradesh.

He holds the record of winning the Asia Luge Champioship four times. The slider greeted spectators after reaching the finish line holding his sled up.  He has remained the poster boy for India in the Winter Olympic Games. After a lengthy career of twenty years in the field, Keshvan willfully took retirement from International adventure sports.

He said, ”It gives sheer happiness to the heart when people call or recognize a person.” I will keep supporting my Nation and day has to come when India wins gold in the Luge, he added.

Achievements

* Participation In Winter Olympic Games: 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018.

* Won Asian Luge Championship in 2011, 2012, 2016, and 2017.

* Shiva Keshvan holds the Asian speed record of 134.3 km/h (83.5 mph) estalished in  the 2011 Asia Cup held  in Japan.
