Himachal Wins National Korfball Tourney

Himachal emerged as winner of the 15th Sub Junior National Championship held in Nagpur of Maharashtra. The state’s junior and senior teams remained runners up in junior and senior korfball championships held at the same venue. For Himachal’s sub junior team, captain gaurav, Divanshu, Shivkant, Aryan raj, Rishabh, Swayam and Chirag performed outstandingly in the final against Haryana team. However, Haryana took revenge by defeating Himachal’s team by 10-9 in junior final and 13-11 in senior final match.

Trials For Women Cricket Academy

The state cricket association will hold trials for women residential cricket academy and Women Challenger Tournament. Trials for women residential cricket academy running at HPCA Cricket Stadium will be held in two phases, the first at Dharamshala on April 7 and second at Luhnu Cricket ground Bilaspur on April 11. The players between the age group of 12 to 17 years will be given preference. The aspirants must be bonafide Himachalis. There is no age limit for women challenger tournament. Notably, Himachal’s international women cricketer Sushma Verma is excelling after getting training at this academy.
