Notification for Rajya Sabha election issued

Shimla – The Election Commission of India has issued notification for the election of a Member to the Council of States by the elected members of H.P. Legislative Assembly. According to the notification, the last date for filing nominations will be 12 March, 2018 and the nomination papers would be scrutinised on 13 March while the last date for withdrawal of candidature has been fixed for 22 March, 2018. The election, if necessary, would be held on 20 March, 2018 between 9 AM and 4 PM and the entire election processes will be completed by 26 March, 2018. The Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh is falling vacant on 2 April, 2018 on completion of term of Jagat Prakash Nadda.
