Jairam Thakur new Himachal CM
Shimla – Five-time BJP MLA Jairam Thakur will be the new Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh after he was elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party. The decision was taken at a meeting of BJP MLAs. The BJP ousted the Congress from power by winning 44 out of the 68 seats.

Shimla – The Congress has dissolved Chamba unit following party candidate’s defeat in assembly elections. The district president would continue to hold his post. Earlier, the Congress had dissolved Shimla, Urban unit.

Mandi – The BJP supporters in Mandi district erupted in celebrations after Jai Ram Thakur’s name was declared as Himachal’s next chief minister. Thakur represents Seraj assembly segment in Mandi district. It is for the first time in history of this hilly state that a leader from Mandi district will become chief minister.
